Welcome to Ms. Alam's blog!

I hope you can take part in our classroom blog.  The activities are standards-based and will help your child understand concepts that are applicable throughout thier education.

I remember 1st grade being much more than simply letters and numbers. Learning was love, art, expression, reaching goals I thought I could not, feeling safe and loved, learning to love others and our planet, being rewarded for high grades and displaying sincere acts of kindness.  English, science, social studies, science, art, P.E., and music were enjoyable for me. The reason for my academic success was simple: I had teachers and parents that cared about me as an individual. Those teachers transformed learning into something I would look forward to. That is what I strive to do. It is my number one passion.
